LUMINATIVE MEDIA – what we are

“Illuminating pathways through text, video and photography”

My name is Gregory Bufithis. In brief, I am a digital media/telecom attorney, journalist, writer, and media producer. I founded Luminative Media in 2020.

Much of my legal work started in the fashion and digital media industries, so I became a bit of a freelance law and technology tart, if you will … juggling information technology, journalism, law, and digital publishing. It led to film production and in-depth blog pieces for my clients and it just grew from there.

In today’s era of instant information gratification, we have ready access to opinions, rationalizations, and superficial descriptions. Much harder to come by is the foundational knowledge that informs a principled understanding of the world. This is my attempt to synthesize specialized subject matter for all level of readers to engage in critical topics through the fundamentals of complex ideas.

My intention is to delve deeper into issues, at greater length and with more historical and social context, in order to illuminate pathways of thought that are not possible to pursue through the immediacy of daily media.

Luminative Media covers – through text, through photographs, through video – a range of concerns, from art and philosophy, to digital capitalism, and geopolitics. I step outside of the usual lanes and cross disciplines, social silos, political tribes and cultural boundaries.

We cover two realms:

We look at the trends and technologies that have accelerated the convergence of several discrete yet mutually inclusive, overlapping domains:

• cybersecurity, digital/mobile media

• eDiscovery/information governance

• software development

To do this we follow a rigorous conference schedule which you can review by clicking here. That provides us perspective and a holistic tech education. It also affords me the opportunity to build a network of technology contacts across diverse fields which I share with my client base. It also provides fodder for my many blog posts. And we produce myriad videos from each event, both for our YouTube site as well as for vendors seeking bespoke videos for their own marketing use.

And on the more serious side we also produce both blog posts and videos on such topics as genocide, the Ukraine War, the Athens Democracy Forum, and the Pantheon in Rome.
